Biography

James Anthony Butler

He is the son of Patrick Butler and Mary Crowley

He is the twin brother of Francis.

Their father died the following year. His mother remarried to Nicholas C. Laubach in 1903. Nicholas married again Mary McKinnon 19 July 1910.

In 1900 widowed mother and 4 boys ages 1-4 lived in Chicago. [1]

In 1910 he and 3 brothers lived with Nicholas, his stepfather and two sisters (by father-in-law) in Chicago. Nicholas was a switchman for the railroad. [2]

In his 1917 draft registration, he worked for the NY Central railroad in Indiana.

In 1920 He, 2 stepsisters, mother and stepfather lived in Chicago. Nicholas was a yard master for the railroad and James also worked for the railroad in a weighing function. [3]

He married Louise Margaret Savard (1898-1985) on 21 September 1920, in Chicago.

In 1930 she and her husband and 2 children lived in Chicago. He was a car conductor on the surface lines. [4]

James was born 6 Feb 1897 in Chicago. He and twin are recorded in the records of St Patrick Parish (Chicago: S Commercial) [5]

They were baptized March 4. sponsors for James were Thomas White and Agnes Crowley, for Francis were John Gillian and Elizabeth Crowley.

Marriage

He married Louise Margaret Savard (1898-1985) on 21 September 1920, in Chicago, Cook, Illinois. [6] He was 23 and she was 21.

Death

He passed away 12 Nov 1958, Chicago, Cook, Illinois [7]
