Biography
Bennie Mae Stanley was born on 15 Jun 1902 in rural McMinnville, Warren County, Tennessee; [1] she was the daughter of Benjamin Luster Stanley and Lela Woodlee.[1]
In 1910,[2] Bennie Mae Stanley (age 8, born Tennessee) was living in Warren County, Tennessee in the household of her father, Benjamin L. Stanley (age 42, born Mississippi), with her mother, Lela Stanley (age 43, born Tennessee), with her Stanley siblings, born Tennessee (age, sex): i) Lloyd (14, M), ii) Levi (11, M), iii) Ethel (5, F), iv) Marguritee (3, F), v) John K. (1 8/12, M). Their occupations were: a) Benjamin - postmaster; b) Lloyd - farm laborer; c) Levi - farm laborer.
In 1920,[3] Bennie May Stanley (age 17, born Tennessee) was living in Warren County, Tennessee in the household of her father, Benjamin L. Stanley (age 51, born Mississippi), with her mother, Lela Stanley (age 52, born Tennessee), with her Stanley siblings, born Tennessee (age, sex): i) Levi (20, M), ii) Margaret (14, F), iii) Ethel (15, F), iv) J. Kendrick (12, M). Their occupations were: a) Benjamin - farmer; b) Levi - farm laborer.
On 22 Dec 1923 in Shelby County, Tennessee,[4] Bennie Mae Stanley married D. C. Barrett.
In 1930,[5] Bennie Barrett (age 27, widowed, born Tennessee) was living in Spencer Town, Van Buren County, Tennessee with her daughter, Lessie H. Barrett (age 4, born Tennessee), all in the household of Bennie's father, Benjamin Stanley (age 62, born Mississippi), with her mother, Lela Stanley (age 63, born Tennessee), with her Stanley siblings, born Tennessee (age, sex): i) Ethel (25, F), ii) Margret (23, F), iii) Kendrick (21, M); also in the household was a nephew, Jay L. Stanley (7, M). Their occupations were: a) Benjamin - U. S. mail carrier; b) Bennie - teacher in public schol; c) Ethel - teacher in public school; d) Margret - teacher in public school.
In 1940,[6] Bennie M. Barritt [sic] (age 37, widowed, born Tennessee) was living in Spencer, Van Buren County, Tennessee with her daughter, Lessie H. Barritt [sic] (age 15, born Mississippi); both in the household of Bennie's father, Benjamin Stanley (age 72, born Mississippi), with her mother, Lela Stanley (age 73, born Tennessee). Bennie's occupation was a teacher in a public school.
On 29 Dec 1942 in Hamilton County, Tennessee,[7] Arthur L. Haston (age 56) married Bennie Mae (Stanley) Barrett (age 40).
In 1950,[8] Bennie Mae Haston (age 48 born Tennessee) was living in Hamilton County, Tennessee in the household of her husband, Arthur L. Haston (age 63, born Tennessee). Their occupations were: a) Arthur - other; b) Bennie - grade teacher in public school.
In 1960,[9] Arthur L. & Bennie Mae S. Haston were living on James Boulevard, Signal Mountain, Chattanooga, Hamilton County, Tennessee.
On 29 May 1969, Bennie Mae Haston's husband, Arthur Lynn Haston, died, [10]
On 15 Jun 2002 in McMinnville, Warren County, Tennessee,[11]
Bennie Mae (Stanley) Barrett Haston died on 14 Jan 2005 at the River Park Hospital, McMinnville, Warren County, Tennessee, and she was buried in the Smyrna Cemetery, Irving College, Warren County, Tennessee, USA. [12]

- Bennie Mae Stanley Haston, 102, McMinnville resident and Warren County, Tennessee native Bennie Mae Stanley Haston, 102, passed from this life January 14 at River Park Hospital after a brief illness.
- A teacher with Van Buren and Hamilton County schools and a member of Mt. Leo Church of Christ, she was the daughter of Benjamin L. and Lela Woodlee Stanley; and was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Lynn Haston in 1969; four brothers and three sisters.
- She is survived by daughter, Hope Clark of Warren County; granddaughter, Jane C. Webb of Warren County; great-granddaughter, Dara Webb; several nieces and nephews.
- Services will be held today at High's Chapel with Stan Stevenson and Carl Stanley officiating. Interment will follow at Smyrna Cemetery.
- High Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
