Lottie was born in 1873. She was the daughter of Samuel Christy. Reportedly born in Harrison Ohio, she married Barney Weitzel, also from Harrison. The couple were married in the rectory of a church in Chicago Illinois in 1903. They lived in Chicago, where Barney worked on the elevated railroad. She died in 1918, and was returned home to Harrison to be laid to rest.

The family history from Mary Louise (Scharold) Kuehne (1915-1993) states that Barney never married. But he did and his wife is buried in the family plot at the Catholic Cemetery.
