Biography

Liboria was born in Menfi around 1836, daughter of Luciano Saladino, a shepherd, and Antonina Diecidue ^[1]. In 1851 at age 15, she married 23-year-old Antonino Abbruzzo ^[2], a servant at the time of their marriage, and they had several children. They were living in Menfi when married, but had moved to Santa Margherita di Belice before their daughter Maria was born there in 1859.
