Biography
Walter Marward was born around 1525 probably at Skreen, co. Meath. (estimated based on 1501 birth of father).
He was the son of James Marward and his wife Maud Darcy. [1]
In 1534 his father was murdered by his mother's lover and then husband Richard FitzGerald [1]
The wardship of Walter Marward son of James Marwarde, late of Kilcarney, Baron Slane was granted to Thomas Cusack of Cusenston [2]
1554 Walter was granted his livery (Cal. P.B., p. 32G, art. 18.) [3]
Walter m1). Margaret Plunkett, daughter of Robert Plunkett;5th Baron Dunsany. She drowned in the River Boyne. [1]
He m2). Ellen Plunket daughter of judge Sir John Plunket of Dunsoghly, Dublin & his wife Catherine Luttrell. [1]
