Biography

James William Campbell was born at the Cape of Good Hope, Africa on 29 Nov 1857 the second child and second son of James Campbell, a mason and Mary Worth^[1].

By 1871 his father was dead and the surviving Campbell family, James, his brother John and mother Mary Ann had moved to Canada, settling in the town of Toronto East in Ontario.

In the 1871 census James (age 16), Apprentice, was in St Davids Ward, Toronto East, Ontario.^[2]

James married Bridget Welsh, the daughter of Fanny Welsh on 24 December 1874 in York, Ontario, Canada.^[3]

In the 1891 census J (age 36), Bress Moalder, was the married head of household in Ward 6, Hamilton City, Ontario, Canada.^[4]

In the 1901 census James (age 44), Brass Moulder, was the married head of household in Canada, Ontario.^[5]

James died on the 28 June 1930 and is commemorated in a memorial in St. John's Norway Cemetery and Crematorium, The Beaches, Toronto Municipality, Ontario, Canada.^[7]
