He was the son of Witte van Haamstede and Agnes van der Sluis. He passed away about 1348.
Arnoud became the new lord of Moermond and had a new castle Hildenisse built probably around 1339. The old castle that used to belong to the Renesse family was probably damaged from the Vlaamse-Revolt (1297-1304).
In a July 8, 1338 charter de broeders Florens, Heer van Haamstede en Arnoud van Haamstede promise support to the Count of Henegouwen en Holland for support in the area of there passed away overleeden broeder Jan.[1]
In a March 30, 1339 charter Heren Arnoude van Haemstede, onzen lieve neve (lord Arnoud of Haamstede are sweet cousin) received several properties from Count Willem of Henegouwen and Holland: Oostzanen, Wormer, Akersloot, Hillegom, Vennip.[2]
On June 21, 1345 Count Willem of Holland makes a packed with many nobels to finance his wars. The most prominant nobels signed this agreement. Signatura are heer Florens van Haamstede and heer Arnoud van Haamstede[3]
Arnoud was murdered by Wolfert van Borselen some time before 1350.[4]
