Adah was born in 1848 in Holloway, Middlesex, England. She was the daughter of Edward Weston and Elizabeth Crowe.[1]

On 9 July 1870 at St Pancras, Middlesex, she married Rev. Dr George Reith, son of George Reith and Jane Stuart.[2] He was a Calvinist minster. They lived in Glasgow, Scotland and had 7 children:
