Biography

Seán (Tubridy) Ó Tiobraide was born in Ireland.

John Andrew, son of Patrick and Jane (née Waldron) Tubridy, was born on the 8th August 1896 in Ballygowan, County Mayo.^[1]

In the 1901 census John (age 4) was the son of Patrick Tubridy in An Cheathrú Rua Theas, Contae na Gaillimhe.^[2]

In the 1911 census John (age 14) was boarding in Blackrock College, Rock Road, Blackrock.^[3]

Seághan married Kathleen Mary Ryan of St Brendan's, Cross Avenue, Blackrock on the 5th February 1929 in Booterstown, County Dublin, in the presence of Patrick C. Arkins and Elizabeth M. Ryan.^[4]

Dr Seán Tubridy served as a Fianna Fáil Teachta Dála from 1927 to 1932, in the 5th and 6th Dálaí and from 1937 to 1938 in the 9th and 10th Dálaí.^[5]

Séan Ó Tiobraide passed away (aged 43) on the 15th July 1939 in Newcastle, County Galway^[6] and was buried in Bohermore Cemetery, Galway, County Galway.^[7]
