Biography

Dewitt (or Dee) was born in Decatur County, Tennessee, on 27 February 1908.^[1] He was the son of Henry Johnson and Ida Anglin.^[2] Dee married Ruth Jette about 1930. The couple had at least 7 children.^[3] Dee worked as a postal clerk for much of his life. He died on 3 September 1979 in Corpus Christi, Texas.^[4] He is buried in Seaside Memorial Park.^[5]

• The name Dewitt is found thus far only in daughter Nancy's birth record and one city directory (as well as in FamilySearch and some Ancestry trees). Everywhere else it is Dee. Heritage-577 16:28, 26 August 2023 (UTC)
