Biography

Captain Joseph Platt was born about 1754, given that he died in 1833 at the age of 79.^[1]

A Milford, Connecticut genealogy lists him as person 31 in the Platt section and gives further details. He was the son of Joseph and Hannah (Buckingham). He married Mable Clark (1753/4 - 7 Nov 1815) in Jul 1788. Her parents were Isaac and Elizabeth (Andrew). Captain Joseph also probably married 29 Sep 1816 Ann (Rogers) Platt, bap 14 Dec 1760 - 24 Jun 1819 and after her death Juldah Williams b. 26 Jan 1760 - 25 Sep 1823.^[2]

His children with Mabel were Joseph (1778), Mable (1781), Elizabeth (1785), Charlotte (1789), Nathan (1791), Susan (1794), and Dan (1796).^[2]

Mable "wife of Captain Joseph" died 7 Nov 1815 at 61.^{[3] [4]}
