The 1930 US Census of Northampton, Hampshire, Massachusetts finds this Joseph at the age of 13yrs old and given as born in Massachusetts. He is living there in Northampton at an undecipherable address, (could be Grant St.), with his 43yr old father, Joseph "Povilaitis", his 40yr old mother, Minnie and his four siblings; 16yr old Anna, 15yr old "Alvina (sic?), 12yr old Veronica and 9yr old John. There is also a 34yr old, unmarried female "lodger" named Maud Christians living in the home.[2]
DEATH:
A State of Massachusetts Death Index record for this Joseph J. "Povilaitis" says he died October 27, 1992 in Northampton, Hampshire, Massachusetts.[3]

Joseph Povilaitis
NORTHAMPTON - Joseph J. Povilaitis, ,76, of 7 Kary St., died Tuesday in the Cooley Dickinson Hospital.
Born in Northampton Aug. 21, 1916, he was the son of the late Joseph and Monica (Armanavich) Povilaitis.
He had lived in Northampton all of his life, and attended schools here.
Mr. Povilaitis worked as a custodian for the city for many years, retiring in 1979.
He was a communicant of St. Mary's Church.
He leaves three sisters, Anna Skowronek and Veronica Kelley, both of Nothampton, and Alberta Clark of Long Island, N.Y.
...Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery North Elm Street.[4]
