Daniel Howard m. second, widow Mary Emerson, dau. of Ebenezer and Elizabeth (Goff) Hall of Newcastle, Maine June 9, 1809 ; she d. Jan. 4, 1854^[5]

Daniel Howard graduated from Harvard College in 1797 ; studied law with Judge Nahum Mitchell of E. B., commenced to practice at Turner, Maine^[6]

Daniel Howard removed to Buckfield, Maine, thence to New Gloucester, Maine, thence to Jay, Maine, and from there to Vassalboro, Maine, about 1832 ; he had seven children.^[7]
