Agnes was born in December 1918 in Altai Krai, Russia. She was the daughter of Johann Toews and Agnes Rempel. She immigrated to Drake, Saskatchewan in 1926 with her parents and sister Helene and brother Jacob. She lived with her brother John near Esterhazy, Saskatchewan and went to school. John had immigrated to Canada in 1924.
Agnes married Peter Abe Nightingale on 15 December 1936. Agnes passed away in January 1985 in Winfield, British Columbia. She was buried in Lakeview Memorial Gardens in Kelowna, British Columbia.
