James Ronald Steele was born on 23 July 1900 in Ramseur, Randolph County, North Carolina, USA.

In the 1920 census Ronald (age 19), Weaver, was the single son of Jw Steel in Gilmer, Guilford, North Carolina.[2]
J (age 23), son of J Wm Steel & Della Steel, married Della Mary Chandler on 9 August 1923 in Guilford, North Carolina, United States.[3]
In the 1930 census Ronald (age 29), Fixer, was the married head of household at 49 Mapel Street, Greensboro, Guilford, North Carolina, United States.[4]
In the 1940 census James (age 39), Overseer, was the married head of household in Sumner, Guilford, North Carolina.[5]
In the 1950 census James (age 49), Foreman Nopping Room, was the married head of household in Sumner, Guilford, North Carolina, United States.[6]
James died (age 75) on 18 January 1976 in Guilford, North Carolina.[7] James was buried in Rehobeth United Methodist Church Cemetery, Greensboro, Guilford County, North Carolina, United States with a death date of 18 January 1976.[8]
