Harry was born in 1897. He was the son of James E Fogle. He passed away in 1959.
TANEYTOWN MAN KILLED BY SHREDDER
A corn shredder caused the death of Harry O. Fogle, 62,
well known Taneytown R.1 farmer noon Tuesday while he was assisting his son,
Oscar Fogle in the harvest at the son's farm miles south of Taneytown on Taneytown R. 2.
Dr. James T. March, deputy medical director of Carroll County,
listed the death as caused multiple compound fractures of the skull.
Mr. Fogle had gone to his farm early Tuesday morning and while
another son operated a tractor pulling a corn picker through the fields
the father followed at some distance with another tractor pulling the shredder.
Discovers Tragedy
The tragedy was discovered Mrs. Oscar Fogle when she to the fields to call the men lunch.
She noticed that one tractor was sitting in the field apparently untended and went to the vehicle
where she found her father-in-law had apparently fallen while driving and had become enmeshed in the shredder.
The tractor had flooded and stopped, apparently when Mr. Fogle's body was caught in the shredding machine.
Dr. E. A. Thompson, Taneytown physician, and the Taneytown ambulance were summoned but on their arrival
it was found that death had occurred, and the medical examiner was called.
Mr. Fogle had been a member of the board of directors of the (Continued On Page 4).[1]
Southern States Cooperative at Taneytown. was a member of the Rocky Hill Lutheran Church, Woodsboro, and was a member of the Holstein Cattlemen's Association and the Carroll County Farm Bureau.
Father Of Nine Surviving are
Funeral services Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Fuss Funeral Home, Taneytown. with the Rev. William M Brown, his pastor, officiating. Interment in the Rocky Hill Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home in Taneytown this evening after 7 although there will be no viewing..[2]
