Biography
The daughter of James Chambers (1843-1925) and Louisa Kellogg (1847-1900), Adelaide Chambers was born in Macon Township, Michigan[citation needed] in 1877, residing there with her family.[1] Her siblings included:
- Aaron Culver Chambers (1866-1870)
- Rose Belle Chambers (1870-1933)
- Sarah Gray Chambers (1873-1899)
By 1900, Adelaide and her sister, Rose, lived in Ionia Township, Michigan,[2] boarding with John and Matilda Wood while both Adelaide and Rose worked as milliners.
Adelaide married Wilmot Allen, marrying in Clinton Township, Michigan on June 7, 1902,[3] and having two known children together. They made their home in 1910 with Adelaide's family in Macon Township,[4] residing by 1920 in Ann Arbor, Michigan.[5] By 1930, Adelaide and her family lived in Ypsilanti, Michigan,[6] residing by 1940 in Tecumseh Township, Michigan.[7]
Widowed in 1947, Adelaide Allen passed away around the age of 84 and is buried at Macon Cemetery in Macon Township, Michigan.[8]
