Norman McInnis was awarded the The Order of the British Empire.
Norman was born about 1916 in Proton Township, Grey County, Ontario, Canada.[1]
He is the son of John McInnes and Ethel Haw.
Norman served with the armed forces during WW II and was awarded the British Empire Medal.
While stationed in England, Norman met, and in 1943 (sometime between July and Sept) married Joan Watkin in Cuckfield, Sussex.[2]
Joan became his best friend and they enjoyed almost 64 years of married life together.[1]
The Wellington Advertiser newspaper wrote in his memorial:
Norm was a member at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Arthur. Over the years he served on the board of managers and as an elder. He was involved with the Greenfield Cemetery Board, the Crieff Hills Retreat Centre and was recognized by the Canadian Bible Society for 40 years of service.[1]
Norman passed away on 5 December 2007 at Caressant Care Nursing Home, Arthur.[1] His name is engraved on a gravestone with his parents and his wife in Greenfield Cemetery, Wellington County.[1][3]
