Richard King was a member of the Grand Army of the Republic, Garfield Post 25, Wichita, Kansas.
Richard served as a Private in Co. H of the 11th Ill Infantry for three months during the Civil War, after which he was a musician in the F&S Co. of the 19th Ill Infantry.[3][4][5]
After the war he was the proprietor of a cigar box and pump factory with his brother Henry.[6]
He married Arvilla Beard 7 Sep 1859 at LaSalle County, IL.[7] She was born 24 May 1835 at ME and she died 4 Oct 1908 at Wichita, KS.[8] Children:
