Biography
Emma was born in 1878.
Emma was the daughter of W.S. Fortenbaugh and Clara (Smith) Fortenbaugh. Many records call her by her middle name, Gertrude.
In August 1898, Emma married John E. Kistler. They lived in Harrisburg and were parents of James, Howell, Amos, Charles Kistler and several children who died as infants. Her husband worked for the railroad.
Mrs. E. Gertrude Kistler died in October 1930 from burns received after her clothing caught fire from their kitchen stove.
She passed away in 1930.
