Biography
Kristen lived with her mother Sharon Fuqua, in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. Her parents were divorced.
At 16-years-old, Kristen was sent to a "troubled youth" program called the Challenger Foundation. It was in the Utah desert. After being there for a few days, Kristen died of heatstroke on Fifty Mile Mountain in Kane county.
Stephen Cartisano, the program owner, was charged with negligent homicide in Kristen's death and counts of child abuse for the treatment of other students. He was found not guilty.
