Biography

Lessie was born in December 1871 in Louisiana, the daughter of Theodore Simon Richard and Olivia Wyble.^[1]

When Lessie was about 22 she married Louis Martin Mentor Devillier in 1894. The couple had 6 children: Ottis Devilleir, Ethel Devilleir, Borde Denllin, Ruth Devilliers, Thelma Devilliers and Gladys Devilliers.^[1]

In the 1900 census Lessie (age 28) was living in Ward 1, Justice of Peace Ward 1 (Excl. Opelousas Town), St. Landry, Louisiana.^[1]

In the 1910 census Lessie (age 38) was living in Police Jury Ward 1, St Landry, Louisiana.^[2]

In the 1920 census Lessie (age 48) was living in Police Jury Ward 1, St Landry, Louisiana.^[3]

In the 1930 census Lessie (age 58) was living in Opelousas, St Landry, Louisiana.^[4]
