Biography

Joseph was born in 1689. He was the son of Samuel Burches and Margaret Williams.

He was baptised in St. Michlan's Church, Dublin.

David and Joseph moved northwards to the city of Armagh during the primacy of Archbishop Lindsay, with whom they were connected.

Joseph married Elizabeth Lloyd, daughter of Ynyr Lloyd, of East Ham, Essex (Deputy Secretary of the East India Company), on 7 December 1716 at St Andrew's Church, Dublin.^{[1] [2]}

4. John b. 1722, married Martha Ford, daughter of Robert Ford, on 20 November 1763. [Name changed to BURGES]
5. Ynyr, b. 1723, of East Ham, who held an influential post in the East India Company, and was offered the baronetey subsequently conferred on his son-in-law. Ynyr married Margaret Browne, daughter of Governor Browne, in 1747. [Name changed to BURGES]
