Cole (born 1845) Martha Cole (born circa 1849, died after circa 1937*) The census of 1850 shows the four of them living in the Town of Richfield, Otsego county, New York. Gilbert is 25, and Hannah is 30. The farm is worth 00. Also living with them is Sarah Cole, age 10, who is presumably Gilbert's sister (or perhaps an orphaned niece?). [16] Between the 1850 and 1860 census's their other two children were born. These were: Alzoa Cole (born 1853) Squire Cole (born 1858, died 1940) In the census of 1860 (p. 597) the family is now living in Otsego Town in Otsego County. This farm is worth 00 and they have possessions worth 0. Gilbert is age 35 and Hannah is age 41. The three older children are all in school. [15] In the census of 1870 (p. 42-) the family is still living in the same area. Alzoa and Squire are still at home. Gilbert is 45 and Hannah is 48. The farm is worth 00 and they have personal property worth 00. Son Martin is living next door with his new wife Ida. [14] Census data for 1880 (E.D. 114, Sh. 16) shows Hannah and Gilbert living next door to their son Squire. Her age is given as 60 and his as 55. Gilbert is listed as a farmer. [13]
