Nancy was born about 1787. She passed away in 1863.

Note from Nicole Gallant-Nunes: I'm currently researching the Nancy Staples who married Luther Stevens. Their marriage intentions were filed on 5 June 1817 in York, ME and their marriage took place on 3 July 1817 in York, ME. This couple had known following children: 1) Nancy, married a Perkins 2) Olive, about 1816-1897 3) Mary (my husband's ancestor), 1823-1899 married Benjamin Huff Jones. Her parents are listed on her death record 4) Calvin, 1827/8 - 1896 5) Luther, 1829-1877 5) Hannah?, died 1858 married a Barker

Nancy Staples Stevens died on 18 October 1863 in Kennebunk, ME. Her burial record for Hope Cemetery lists her age as 76 years and 7 months old making her birthdate about March 1787. I cannot find her birth record or any record that lists her parents' names. It's believed her parents may have been Francis Littlefield Staples and Tabitha Jacobs, married on 12 Jan 1786 in York, however I cannot prove this. Find-A-Grave lists a daughter Nancy born to this couple, but born about 1797 with no sources. Luther Stevens headstone says he died on 19 April 1848.

There was another Nancy Staples who married Samuel Spinney on 6 April 1811 in Eliot, Maine. I cannot find more information about her parents or death date. She died sometime after 1860 when she was listed on a census in Eliot. I know she had the following children with Samuel: 1) Mary Anne, 1815-1879 2) Eliza, 1817-1899, married a Clark 3) Edward, born about 1820, died 1904 4) Olive A., 1821-1855 5) Jane, 1824-1861 6) Margaret, 1826- 7) Samuel H., 1828-1901 possibly 8) an unknown daughter married to a Pettigrew

These women are confused repeatedly on family trees with but clearly these are two different women and not the same woman with a second marriage since they are both having children at the same time. So the ongoing research is to discover which Nancy is the possible daughter of Francis Littlefield Staples and Tabitha Jacobs and who are Nancy Staples (m. Luther Stevens) parents?
