Mary E. Bolig was born in October 1898. Her parents were Jesse Walter Bolig (1865–1926) and Margaret May Walter (1869–1950). She grew up on the family farm in Buffalo Township, Union County, Pennsylvania.[1], [2] Before marriage, she taught for several years in her township.[3]
She married Royal Renninger Walter (1894-1979) on 20 December 1923 at the Reformed Church's parsonage in New Berlin, Union County. They set up their home on his father's farm where they would live the rest of their lives.[4], [5] Their children included:
In 1930 Roy and Mary owned their farm outside of Lewisburg on New Berlin Mountain Road in Buffalo Township, Union County, Pennsylvania. They had 3 children under the age of 5.[6] In 1940 with the children between ages 10-14, they were all still on that family farm.[7]
Mary passed away from a sudden stroke in July 1944 at age 45. She was buried in Dreisbach United Church of Christ Cemetery, Lewisburg, Union County, Pennsylvania.[8], [9]
