Biography

Tenny was born in 1852. She passed away after 1920. According to the delayed birth certificates of her children Hester and Minnie she was married to Wiley McMillan and that her maiden name had been Bagget.^[1]. Minerva T Baggett married Abe McKinney on June 3, 1874 in Dorsey County, Arkansas.^[2].

On December 14, 1877 in Dorsey County, Arkansas, Manerva T. McKinney aged 21, born about 1856, married Wiley McMillon aged 41.^[3].

Census Records

(1880 Census of Hurricane, Dorsey County, Arkansas County, Arkansas.) Manervia T. (or Tennie) aged 24 lived with her husband Wiley McMillan aged 44 and his child Jenny aged 11 and their children Rufus aged 1 and Mary aged 5 months. Also in the household were Rufus Bagget aged 22 called a son-in-law but was probably the brother of Tennie and his wife Salley E. aged 16. Manervia and Rufus stated that their father was from Virginia and their mother from Tennessee though they themselves had been born in Arkansas. Wiley was born in Alabama and his first wife, the mother of Jenny was from South Carolina.

(1900 Census of Pine Bluff, Jefferson County, Arkansas.) Tenny aged 47, a widow, who claimed her father was from Virginia and her mother Tennessee, lived with her children Hettie aged 14, Minnie aged 7 and Pearl aged 5. All including Tenny had been born in Arkansas. This census is of high interest as she was neighbors to Lucy Forrester, James Jacks, James Steed and Thomas Steed of whom all were related to Samuel Marvin Tucker's Tucker family line.

(1910 Census of Whiteville, Jefferson County, Arkansas.) Tennie aged 54 lived with her daughter Pearl aged 16. Her neighbor was Wiliam H. Tucker aged 22, his wife Gennie aged 18 and their children Vera aged 2 and a one Lora Tucker aged 60. Another neighbor was the Jim Jacks family whose daughter Jennie Jacks would marry William "Wiley" Tucker, the brother of Samuel Marvin Tucker.

(1920 Census of Niven, Jefferson County, Arkansas.) Jennie aged 64 lived with her daughter Minnie aged 33 and her husband (Samuel) Marvin Tucker aged 33 and their child Robert Tucker aged 11. The census was taken on January 6, 1920.

Death

M. T. McMillian died on January 22, 1920 and was buried in the Harmony Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Jefferson County, Arkansas.^[4]
