• Funeral services for Col. (Ret.) Hubert E. Nolde, 78, of Leesville were held at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 16, 2004, in the First United Pentecostal Church of Leesville. The Revs. M.C. Green, T.F. Tenney, John Burns, David Hale and Anthony Mangum officiated. Interment followed in the Old Leesville Cemetery.

Col. Noble passed away Thursday, Feb. 12, 2004, in Alexandria. He is survived by his wife, Modena Nolde of Leesville; three daughters, Anita Kaye Hale and husband, David, of Madison, Miss., Pamela Nolde of Alexandria and Kim Wright and husband, David, of Plano, Texas; one sister, Bertha Nolde of Pickering; four grandchildren, Jason Hale of Alexandria, Lynita Williams of Ocala, Fla., Taylor Wright and Lesley Wright, both of Plano, Texas; two great-grandchildren, Reeve Williams and Haley Williams, both of Ocala, Fla., and several nieces and nephews. Col. Nolde is preceded in death by three brothers, Robert Nolde, Richard Nolde and George Nolde. He served over 30 years active duty with the U.S. Army. He was predeceased by his parents, Rudolph Thomas Nolde and Irene Lecie Spradley Nolde; and three brothers, Thomas Robert Nolde, Richard Eugene Nolde and George W Nolde. He was survived by his wife, Mary Modena Wisby Nolde; three daughters; two sons-in-law; one sister, Bertha Estelle Nolde; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Interment for him and his wife originally scheduled for April 21, 2020, postponed to August 31, 2020.
