Biography

Sadie Bernice Isbell, the daughter of John Temple Isbell (1861-1938) and Susan Elvira (Harwick) Isbell (1873-1931), was born on 17 Jun 1896 in Elizabeth, Jo Daviess, Illinois, USA.^[1]

Sadie (20) married Benjamin F Hartsough (21) on 20 Dec 1916 in Jo Daviess County, Illinois, USA.^[2][1]

On 9 Dec 1925, a daughter, Shirley Clair Hartsough, who later married Royce W Ludolph^[3], was born and later baptised at the First Presbyterian Church on 16 May 1926 in Elizabeth, Illinois.^[4]

In 1950, Sadie (53) and Ben (55) were living at 177 Madison Street, in Elizabeth, Jo Daviess, Illinois. Their daughter, [[Arlice Imogene Hartsough Truninger (27) and Arlice's husband, L L Truninger (30}, and a lodger, Paul Stanger (50), were also living with them at this time. Ben, who had an 8th grade education and was not a vet, was working as a bartender. His industry was shown as "Child Room" (?). His son-in-law, L L, worked as an insurance adjuster for Jo Donier Co Farm P; his daughter, Arlice, who would later marry Robert Wallace Atchison Hanson as a second marriage^[5], worked as an "Insurance Sec" for County Mutual Ins Co.Lodger, Paul, worked for S O D Savanah as an ammunition handler.^[6]

Sadie died in Illinois, on 11 Oct 1969, at the age of 73, She was placed to rest at the Elizabeth City Cemetery in Elizabeth, Jo Daviess, Illinois, USA.^[1]
