Major Richard K. Zimmerman was the pilot of a US Army low observation helicopter, OH-6A, co-piloted by Lt. David Earl Taylor, on January 20, 1969. They were flying a mission in The Iron Triangle when they crashed. The mission and crash are described here.
Major Zimmerman is interred at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Eastwood, Michigan. [1]
