Biography

Bella (Buchsbaum) Goldschmidt-Kassel has Jewish Roots.

Bella Bölgen Buchsbaum was born about 1618 to Amschel Ascher Buchsbaum and his wife Treinle Oppenheim.

Her siblings were:

  1. Beer Buchsbaum (~1645 - 1677)
  2. Wolf Amschel Buchsbaum (~1645 - 1715)

In 1634 the moneychanger (Geldwechsler) Meyer Baruch Benedikt Cassel, returned to Frankfurt, married on 27 December 1634 Bella Bölgen Buchsbaum and from then on carried the family name Goldschmidt-Kassel (old spelling: Goldschmidt-Cassel).[1][2][3]

They lived in the Judengasse in the house Buchsbaum, the house where their father also lived.[4][5][6]

Bella died on 30 September 1686 in Reichsstadt Frankfurt am Main, Heiliges Römisches Reich (Holy Roman Empire)[8].

She was buried at the Old Jewish cemetery Battonnstraße, Reichsstadt Frankfurt am Main, Heiliges Römisches Reich.[9]
