Biography

He married Apr. 9, 1778, at Farmington, Conn., Deborah Bartholomew, and about 1801 removed from Bristol, Conn. to Mount Pleasant, Wayne County, PA, having there the farm of Rev. Epaphras Thompson, a Baptist clergyman, who came from the same Connecticut town. Upon this farm Ichabod lived the rest of his life. His first wife died at Mount Pleasant, and he then married Rhoda Price, who was born in 1744. By her he had no children. He was known as "Deacon Stark", probably of the Baptist Free Communion of which Rev. Epaphras Thompson was the first settled minister. He died June 14, 1820, and his wife Rhoda died Sept. 23, 1822. They are both buried in the Presbyterian Cemetery at Mount Pleasant. (Stark)

From Research of Jennie Stark McKee, 1951, Donald L. Jacobson assisting in Research wrote following.
"There were doubtless younger children [Speaking of children of Ichabod's father, Ichabod, Sr.], most certainly a son Ichabod, Jr. The "Stark Family" [Book by Charles R. Stark] inserts a son Luther, which I have not verified. The family lived for some time in Farmington, CT [Ichabod, Sr.], probably in the section which is now the town of Bristol. I failed to find any probate for Ichabod [Senior] and he may not have died in Conn. There is, however, an attachment of the estate of Ichabod Starks, Jr., of Farmington, for debt, on 17 Mar. 1783 [Farmington Probate, File #2598]. So the elder Ichabod was certainly still living in Farmington in 1783, when he would have been 70 years old. I think I could find something more on this family in land and church records on the region.

Following Clovis LaFleur Speculation, November, 2001
In trying to follow this family from Stephen Stark, son of Aaron Stark, Jr. and Mahitable Shaw, it would seem difficult because of the apparent errors found in the Charles R. Stark Text. There is no doubt there was a son Ichabod Stark, Sr. and grandson, Ichabod Stark, Jr. The problems appear in the children of Ichabod, Sr. reported in the CRS text.
I believe the son, William, reported in the CRS text as a son of Ichabod Stark, Sr. did occur on Aug. 14, 1745 in Wallingford, as found by Donald L. Jacobson in his investigation of the family. However, the William in the Charles R. Stark text, described as a son of Ichabod Stark, Sr. born July 16, 1790 , and even doubted by CRS, is not related to this branch of the Stark Family and remains a mystery as where he belongs. I have found a William Stark, born in the year 1780, living in Wayne County, PA in 1850 who is probably the son of Ichabod Stark, Jr. who married Malinda Unknown. He is reported in the 1850 census living next door to Luther Stark.
The Luther reported as a son of Ichabod, Sr. is probably the Luther Stark, age 64, reported in the Wayne County, PA 1850 census, who is probably the son of Ichabod Stark, Jr. In the CRS text, he is recorded as having a daughter named Theresa who married Colin Hayden. The 1850 census for Wayne County, PA shows a Colin M. Hayden as head of the house married to "Terrissa."
In any case, this is how they are now shown in my organization of this family.
