Alice Mathilda (née King) Howell was the daughter of General John Haskell King and Mathilda Catherine Davenport. I have history that traces the Davenport family back to 1066 (a Lieutenant Orme under William the Conqueror). I also have copies of correspondence exchanged between Alice and President Eisenhower about General King's long military service. General King is buried in Arlington. Alice's brother was a renowned car inventor in Detroit and close friends of Henry Ford.
