Jean François was born in 1654. He is the son of Claude Charron and Claude Le Camus. [1]

In association with Pierre LeBer and Jean Fredin, he was a community founder of the Hospitallers de la Croix et de St-Joseph, which was called called Charon Brothers-(Letters patent of the King 15-4-1694) and the l'Hôpital général de Montréal (built in 1692)
First superior in 1694 until his death
Concession of the seigneurie (lordship) of Bonsecours on the Yamaska River on 8-8-1702, sold to René Fezeret the 21-8-1702
He died after 9-7-1719 at sea, on the ship Chameau on his return to Canada
