Rodney was the oldest child of Robert and Sallie [Eager] Starkweather, b. in Worthington, Mass., 8 Feb., 1788; m. in Northampton, Mass., 9 Feb., 1815, Jane Starkweather, dau. of Charles and Martha [Kingsley] Starkweather. She was b. in Northampton, Mass., 4 Jan., 1794; d. in Waterville, Ohio,23 Oct., 1869. He d. in Waterville, Ohio, 9 April, 1872. He was a physician and surgeon and lived in Worthington until 1815; then Fabius, N. Y. until July, 1820; then Chesterfield, Mass., until 1853; then they moved to Waterville, Ohio, where they died. They were members of the 'Old Church,' Congregational, in Northampton, Mass. Their children are: Charles Robert, b. in Fabius, N. Y., 8 May, 1816; m. Mary H. Eager, dau. of Nathaniel and Sybil [Huntington] Eager. Julia, b. in Fabius, N. Y., 7 Feb., 1820; m. Rev. Royal Reed. Jane, b. in Chesterfield, Mass., 10 May, 1824; m. Rev. P. C. Baldwin, son of Henry and (???) [Woolfe] Baldwin. Henry, b. in Chesterfield, Mass., 29 Aug., 1826; m. first time Mary E. Woodbury, dau. of Rev. Benjamin Woodbury; m. second time Mary Wood, dau. of Major Henry Wood. 527. Martha, b. in Chesterfield, Mass., 8 April, 1830; m. Augustus Sabin Chase, son of Seth and Eliza Hempstead [Dodge] Chase.
