Biography
Grazia was born in 1848 to Vincenzo Abruzzo, a farmer, and Rosalia Guzzardo [1]. In 1871 at age 22, she married the 29-year-old widower, Antonino Calafato, a farmer [2].
Research Notes
Grazia's birth and marriage records incorrectly name her mother as Rosalia Scaturro rather than Rosalia Guzzardo. Scaturro was the surname of Rosalia's mother. There is no record (yet) of a Rosalia Scaturro married to a Vincenzo Abruzzo. Also, Grazia is the name of the mother of the Vincenzo who married Rosalia Guzzardo. This error in Grazia's birth record would have been copied into her marriage record.
