Noah finished his schooling in Blountsville and went to Louisville, Kentucky for Business School Educaitons. After leaving Louisville, Noah came to the Glen Rose area of Texas where he had relatives. He taught school in rural areas with his brother Arthur.

As a teacher in Grandbury, he had as a pupil Arah Kiker, who was living there with her preacher brother. Noah then moved to Weatherford where he taught in the college under the supervisition of Switzers. In about 1902 he returned to Glen Rose to work as a bookkeeper and at that time he renewed his acquaintance with his former pupil, 11 years his junior. In 1904, Noah and Arah married in her home at Stephenville, Texas by her brother Rev. O.P. Kiker.

In about 1905, they moved to Mineral Wells where he worked as a bookkeeper for Poston Dry Goods. Later he worked for First National Bank before opening his own Business School in 1919. The school was housed in numerous buildings in the town and at times in the residence of Arah and Noah.

At age 84, he fell and broke his hip never to be completely well again.
