Barbara Lee Adams was born in Vandergrift, Pennsylvania on July 9, 1933 to Arthur and Alfaretta Myers Adams. She was the second of four children, all daughters, born to the couple.

Barbara was raised in Vandergrift, Pennsylvania. She married a man with the last name Cabot in August 1957. She then married Richard Batchelor in August 1984, taking the name Barbara Cabot Batchelor. At some point, she moved to Florida.

Barbara died in Palm Coast, Florida on December 7, 1999. She was 66 years old. She is buried alongside her second husband in Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida.
