Biography
William Henry Aitchison was the second son of Maj-General Andrew Aitchison of Ryde, Isle of Wight. He was born on 10 July 1820 and baptised in Bombay on 26 August 1820.[1]
The manner in which William's death was recorded indicates that he may have died of scarlet fever at the "house of W.W. Terrington, Esq., at Walthamstow." W.W. Terrington's eldest son William John and his second daughter, Anna Maria, had died the previous day of scarlet fever also.[2] This house was probably the home of his paternal grandfather.
