Charles Alden, born on 4 May 1808 in Minot, ME,^[2] married Eliza P. Crafts, daughter of Zibeon and Hannah (Howard) Crafts, of Minot,^[3] on 17 Jan. 1838 in Minot, ME.^[4] She was born on 21 Jan. 1811 in Minot, ME,^[5] and they were living next door to his father in Minot, Cumberland Co., ME, in the 1840 federal census, where he was a farmer,^[6] and in Auburn, Cumberland Co., ME, in the 1850 federal census, where he was a shoemaker.^[7]
