At the time of his death he held leases on several local "manors" (big farms) including Berwyke Hall in White Colne, Essex; Loveney Hall in Colne Wake; Cole Eugaine; White Colne and Bures-at-Mount, Essex and of the manors of Paiton Hall in Buries and Lamarshe Hall in Lamarshe, Essex, England.
After his death, his widow continued to live at their manor of Pebmarsh, Essex, England, until she passed away in 1567.
