EVERETT - At her late home in Emporia, Kans., Mrs. Edward W. Everett fell asleep in Jesus, June 14, 1919. Her maiden name was Mary Ann Allen. She was born near Turin, Lewis County, New York, July 9, 1847. On Oct. 13 1869, She was united in marriage with Edward W. Everett. The family removed to Kansas in 1885, and to the present family home in Emporia in 1903. The husband and six sons sorely miss her from the home, but they sorrow not as those who have no hope. She was a devoted Christian wife and mother, and a lifelong member of the Presbyterian Church, in the work of which she was always interested. Her deepest interests were in the home, where she both lived and taught the Christian faith. Five of their six sons were graduated b y the College of Emporia. All six of the sons were present in the home but a few days before the departure of the mother. The names are as follows: Rev. Jay C. Everett, D.D., Charles H. Everett, Robert A. Everett, Edward P. Everett, Ray S. Everett and Captain Harry Everett. Those tenderly bore her body to the grave to await the resurrection of the redeemed at the second coming of our Lord. R.B.A. McB.
