Biography

Ethelyn was born in July of 1882, based on the birth date in the 1900 U.S. Census. She was the daughter of Charles Allen and Catherine Alexander. ^[1]

Ethelyn/Etta May Allen was married to John Patrick Gallagher in Ballard, King County, Washington on 30 July 1900. ^[2] Etta was living in Leavenworth County, Washington at the time of her marriage.

Her son, Thomas Lester Gallagher was born 7 April 1918 in Washington State to Ethelyn May Allen and John P. Gallagher. ^[3]

Thomas, born 7 April 1918, died in August of 1919 at the age of 1 year, 4 months, 17 days in Othello, Adams County, Washington. The importance of this record is that it gives his mother's commonly used name of Etta Allen (born in Minnesota) and father, J. P. Gallagher, born in Wisconsin. ^[4]

Ethel is the name on her grave marker in Peshastin Cemetery, Peshastin, Chelan County, Washington. A copy of her death record is on the FAG memorial. This is the same cemetery in which her parents are buried. ^[5]
