Biography

Hon. Claude William Hynman Allenby was born on 13 August 1912. He was the son of Captain Frederick Claude Hynman Allenby and Edith Mabel Jaffray. He married, firstly, Sheila Patsey Price, daughter of G. P. Price, on 1 July 1939. He and Sheila Patsey Price were divorced in 1948. He married, secondly, Barbara Marion Hall, daughter of John Hall, on 11 September 1951. He died on 2 December 1975 at age 63. He was educated at Stowe School, Buckingham, Buckinghamshire, England. He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the service of the 11th Hussars, Reserve Officers. He fought in the Second World War. On 28 January 1939 he was granted by Royal Warrant the rank of a viscount's younger son
