William Smith Ames, son of Martin Ames and Hannah (Hull) Ames, was born on 7 March 1839 in Adams County, Ohio.[1]
He married Sarah Jane Crothers,[1] daughter of Weems Carothers and Mary (Cleveland) Carothers,
He was a farmer when he and Sarah appeared on the census of 2 June 1880 at Washington, Clinton County, Ohio.[2]
William died on 15 November 1927 at Corbin, Sumner County, Kansas and was buried at Corzine Cemetery, Corbin, Sumner County, Kansas. His memorial has a photo and links to those of family members.[1]
