William was born on 3 November 1851 at Mt Shadwell, Victoria, Australia, and baptised on 18 February 1852 at the Christ Church, Warrnamboool. His parents were Samuel Anderson and Isabella Eden.[1]
He married Sally Foster at Ballarat, Victoria on 26 May 1881.[2] Wife, Sally, was born at Linton, where William's family lived.
After his marriage, he shifted to West Gippsland (Toora/Foster area) where he raised a family of 11. All of his children were born in the Foster/Toora area, except the second child, Alfred Victor, born at Linton (were they visiting family at the time?).
William died at Toora in 1902 at the age of 52 years.[3] He is buried at the Toora Cemetery, Toora, South Gippsland Shire, Victoria, Australia[4]
