The April 1871 census[3]shows William residing, with his grandfather's family in Wandlass Place, Southwick, County Durham.
William was baptised[4]with his sister Elizabeth Roberts and brother Albert Arridge on 25 July 1875 at All Saints, Otley, Yorkshire, England. At the time of the ceremony the family were residing in Otley and their father John Arridge was noted as a Shoemaker.
The April 1881 census[5]shows William residing, with his family, in High Street, Bangor, Caernarfonshire, Wales, United Kingdom.
The April 1891 census[6]shows William residing, as a lodger, in Hole In The Wall Street, Caernarfon, Caernarfonshire.
William married[7]Ellen Owen on 20 August 1895 at St Nicholas Church, Liverpool, Lancashire, England. At the time of the ceremony William, a Boot Manufacturer, resided in Highfield Street, Liverpool and Ellen resided in Park Hill, High Street, Bangor. William's father John Arridge is noted as a Boot Manufacturer. The marriage was registered[8]during the third quarter of 1895 in the district of Liverpool.
It was reported[9] in the North Wales Observer and Express on Friday, 5 June 1896 that William had been fined £60 0s 0d for seducing Miss Laura Roberts, who it is said had promised to marry. Laura fell pregnant and it is alleged that William refused to continue the relationship as he was now engaged to his wife to be Miss Ellen Owen. Laura's child was born in February 1896 but no name or sex of the baby was reported.
The March 1901 census[10][11]shows William residing, with his family, in Bryndifyd Terrace, Lon Pobty, Bangor.
The April 1911 census[12]shows William residing, with his family in a five roomed property in William Street, Bangor.
The September 1939 register[13]shows William residing, with his family in Port Penrhyn, Bangor.
William passed away about 1948.
