Eula was born in 1908. She was the daughter of Berl Arries and Clara Shong. She passed away in 1991.

Eula R. Fristad, 208 E. Circle St., Appleton, age 83, passed away Friday, Oct. 11, 1991, at the Appleton Medical Center.

She was born April 1, 1908 in Merrill, Wis., daughter of the late Berl M. and Clara E. (Shong) Arries.

On Oct. 1, 1927, Eula married Harry Fristad in Red Wing, Minn. Harry preceded her in death in 1977.

Eula was a former resident of Colby, Stevens Point and Augusta, Wis. While living in Stevens Point, she was active in the Barbara Rebekah Lodge No. 9, twice being the Noble Grand. At Frame Memorial Presbyterian Church, Eula was a past president of the Ladies Guild. In her earlier years, Eula was involved with the 4-H program, being a youth leader, and was also a Farmer's Union youth leader.

Survivors include five daughters; Verna Shackleton, Appleton; Joan (Peter) Goldner, Anchorage, Alaska; Norma Weisz of Lombard, Ill.; Selma (Endre) Ivan of Indianhead Park, Ill., and Sandra (Jack) Engel of Chassel, Mich.; one son, T. Melvin (Beatrice) Fristad, Milwaukee, 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers: Donald and Mansfield.
