Biography

Elizabeth Ayliffe was recorded in the Visitation of Wiltshire in 1623 as a daughter of Sir George Ayliffe and Anne St John.^[1][2]

Elizabeth was recorded in the Duke pedigree in the Visitation of Wiltshire as Elizabeth Ayliffe, daughter of Sir George Ayliffe. She had married George Duke, son and heir of John and Mary Duke of Lake [Wilsford cum Lake], Wiltshire.^[3]

The marriage settlement of Elizabeth Ayliffe and George Duke was dated 'about 20 Aug 1636'.^[4]

Elizabeth was noted as Elizabeth Duke in the will of her father Sir George Ayliffe of Rabson, WIltshire, the will made on 22 May 1640 and proved on 30 Mar 1647.^[5]
