Sir Joseph Bailey, 1st Baronet was baptized 9 Mar 1783 in Great Wenham, Suffolk, England, the son of John Bailey, of Wakefield, and his wife Susannah. [1] His parents had moved from Normanton, near Wakefield, in around 1780, by which time they had already had at least three children (Ann, Elizabeth and William). Joseph was the second child of a further five children to be born in Great Wenham (the others being an older sister, Susan, and three younger siblings, John, Thomas and Crawshay.[2]
About 1800 the young Joseph Bailey made his way to south Wales to seek employment with his maternal uncle, Richard Crawshay (1739-1810), a wealthy iron merchant . He was followed shortly afterwards by his younger brother Crawshay Bailey. The two brothers made a favourable impression on their uncle, who perhaps recognised in them the same steely focus and determination which he himself had exhibited at a similar age. They were taken into the Cyfarthfa business, and when Richard Crawshay died, Joseph was left a 25% share in the firm and Crawshay a legacy of £1,000. The rest of the Cyfarthfa company went to Richard's son, William Crawshay (1764-1834) (who owned 50%) and his son-in-law, Benjamin Hall (1778-1817), who had the remaining 25%. [3]
Joseph, became heavily involved in the iron industry in South Wales and served as High Sheriff of Monmouthshire for 1826. He also represented Worcester in the House of Commons from 1835 to 1847 and Breconshire from 1847 to 1858. In 1852 he was created a Baronet, of Glanusk Park estate in the County of Brecon.
Bailey married, firstly, Maria Latham, daughter of Joseph Latham, in 1810. They had eight children, of which the eldest son, Joseph, served as an MP for Sudbury. Their daughter Jane married James Stuart Menteath, 2nd Baronet of Closeburn and Mansfield.[4]
Known children include:
About 1826 he bought Glanusk Park and had a mansion house built there. After his first wife's death in 1827 he married, secondly, Mary Anne Hopper, daughter of John Thomas Henry Hopper, 19 August 1830 at All Saints' Church, Royal Leamington Spa, Warwickshire, England, United Kingdom[5] They had a daughter, Mary Anne Bertha, born 17 Jul 1832 Aberystryth, Monmouth, England. [6]who married Alexander Young Spearman, son of Sir Alexander Spearman, 1st Baronet.
Sir Joseph died in November 1858, aged 75 [7]As his eldest son had predeceased him in 1850, he was succeeded in his title by a grandson, Joseph Russell Bailey, who in 1899 was elevated to the peerage as Baron Glanusk. Lady Bailey died in 1874.

The merge should be able to go ahead now. I detached Mary Louisa and added her as spouse to her correct husband, Henry Bailey, as well as editing her life data to the correct dates.

If you look this up online (https://www.thepeerage.com/p42116.htm#i421160) you will find that Mary Louisa Puleston actually married Henry Bailey, the son of Sir Joseph Bailey and Maria Latham. Mary Louisa was born in 1810 so could hardly have married Sir Joseph Bailey in the same year she was born. Edit. Actually she was born in 1826.
